See the Rainbow

To all my readers out there, I’ll halfway apologize for my recent debbie downer ranting passages. I say it that way because, while I do try to come up with uplifting messages in my writing when I can, this blog is also no holes barred, true to life testimony of what is going on in my life. I sort of use it as a gauge if you will. I know I won’t be hitting the million customer mark that way without lots of feelgood messages, but sometimes it’s just hard to keep on going and staying positive when all you can think about is how you wish life could be, just to keep from thinking about the way it really is at the moment.

Reading my horoscope, and yes, I do read my horoscope with an app that I’ve had for years, I was told I need to “look for the rainbow” in all of what I’m going through at this time. This is absolutely correct, of course. You always need to find the positive in your situation, but let’s face it, this year in particular that has been a difficult task. For example, I can say for myself at least, in all fairness, 2020 has been a decent financial year. Not that I won the lottery and I’m waiting for the forgotten relatives to start calling, but I am certainly thankful for how it all turned out, and I’m not living under a bridge. I’m alive and healthy, so there you go, another positive.

I’ve thought about memories lately that seem to be a lifetime ago. For me at least, the fact that we are all so isolated these days as a result of the pandemic is probably what makes these memories seem further in the past than they actually are. I’ve thought about live shows I’ve seen. The Moody Blues in Daytona accompanied by an orchestra. Seeing Guns and Roses (yes, I was a metal head in high school) in Hollywood (Florida) before anyone had even heard of them. Let’s not forget one of my faves, ZZ Top. One of the four times I saw them was in Stuttgart, Germany. Nowadays, who knows when we’ll ever get to see live shows like that again.

Now that I’m done reminiscing, I do have to do what my horoscope told me to do, look for the rainbow. It’s what we all have to do right now. Regardless of what you’ve been through, which has been a lot for all of us this year, keep in mind it will get better at some point. See the rainbow.
