As I think about my last few days in Sedona, memories of the last month have been flashing through my head. For the trip to turn out the way it did was completely unexpected, but it has been a wonderful time that’s hard to believe I’m tearing myself away from, even though I know I have to return at some point.

My good friend is back in town, and readjusting to the life he loves here after being a bit road weary from many miles of travel. We are both very similar in that regard, which is probably one reason we have a very common bond. Our travel stories give us adventures to share whenever our paths cross. It’s been great to catch up once again, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. In this case, it’s just another to be continued episode.

I seem to just click with the people I have met in this area, whether it’s out on a hiking trail, in the auto garage getting my car repaired, or when I checked out a used truck and camper for sale the other day. It just feels like when I meet people here, it’s as though I’ve known them for years, even if I’ve known them for a matter of minutes.

Well, as much as I don’t really care to date myself, I’m just about to turn 50 years of age as of next week. Sometimes I really wonder how I managed to last half a century on this ride. There were times I thought it was going to end, there have been times I’ve wanted it to end, many times actually, but when I get to experience a reset on life as I have with my stay here, it makes me acknowledge that not only has it not been all bad, it’s actually been quite good. With the frenetic pace of our lives these days, that just seems to get sped up more and more as time goes on. You just have to take a pause once in a while and reflect on where you’ve been, and think about where you want to go from here.
