Hello all of my readers out there. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been struggling to come up with a definite time each week to submit my blog post. I’m thinking the beginning of the week in order to reflect on the previous week is the way I shall proceed. Still narrowing it down to Sunday or Monday, but I do want to get better consistency going so my readers know when to tune in and see what I’ve gotten myself into, either on purpose or haphazardly.
The event of the previous week that stands out for me was figuring out a name for my LLC that I’ve been wanting to form. I’ve been in a bit of a quandary as to what state I should form it in and what to name it. After figuring out the first part, I was still not sure about a name. I started researching symbols that have significance to me, such as the YinYang (not what I named it), my stone on the medicine wheel, the bloodstone (nope), and another stone I had come across that sounded interesting, the amethyst (still not there). Then, as I read about history and origins of these subjects, it came to me in what felt like an epiphany. I immediately put in the paperwork, online. I’m not going to say what I called it right now while everything is still in the works, but that was truly something I needed to get out of my head and move on to other things.
So, over the weekend I reunited with my new friends that rescued me from wandering around in the dark looking for my car, and they had friends with them as well, so we had our own little expedition group. We explored the Buddha Beach territory again, and I’m still wondering how in the world I ended up where I did and got so far away from my parking location. But it’s alright, exploration comes in many different forms. A big shout out once again to my trail hiking friends, it was great to see you again, it was great to meet your hiking friends as well, and it truly made my day.
Afterwards, I had to check out an arts and crafts event not far from where I’m residing at the moment. There were many precious stones and handcrafted pottery items, not to mention live music, something very nice to hear for the first time in a while. The artist playing acoustic guitar just seemed to know what I wanted to hear. One tune that sticks out in my head was Diamonds and Rust, a song that I remember from my mother’s Joan Baez albums. Interestingly enough, that song was also reproduced by Judas Priest, a favorite headbanger group of mine. I ended up getting my friend here a house warming gift, my mom’s next birthday present, a couple of trinkets for my nephews, and a few stones to keep for myself, one or two of which may end up being given away to someone of significance when the mood strikes.
One thought that really struck me over the weekend, it was just so good to actually be around people again. With all of the hardship, the isolation that the pandemic has caused, I really can’t help but think it’s the big reason people seem to be losing their minds out there. We’re definitely meant to be in the company of others, even though I for one need my solitude on occasion as well. On that note, let us all try to do the best we can to keep it together, to keep heading down that path to a better day.
